"PWN Paris has had a great initiative to organize trips to visit other city networks. I am so pleased that Bucharest or "the little Paris", as Bucharest was called between the two world wars, was one of the selected cities for such a trip. It was a pleasure to meet the lovely ladies from our sister city network and welcome them within our community. 

There are so many historical, political, diplomatic, educational, and cultural ties between France and Romania that makes PWN Paris and PWN Bucharest be even closer than other networks within PWN Global. And we wanted to outline such close cultural relationships by organizing a welcoming cocktail at the French Institute in Bucharest in order for the members of both networks to get to know each other better and have a good networking opportunity. It was a nice occasion to also invite the French Ambassador to Romania, Madame Michèle  Ramis, who graciously accepted our invitation. She was also pleased to find out about our organizations in Paris and Bucharest, but also about PWN Global. We also took the opportunity to make a movie with leading women from Romania who studied in France in the past or contributed to the development of the French-Romanian relations and present it during our welcoming cocktail. This is part of a bigger project, called "Remarkable Women of Romania", a digital platform that we have been working on in the last year, aiming to celebrate the memory of distinguished and courageous women, front-runners on their field of activity, who lived at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century, true women leaders of their time.  I hope that we will have the occasion to show the movie and have a launching event in Paris as well, when we finalize the project.

I truly believe that such visits enable us not only to get to see new places but, moreover, bring the human touch and create those human relationships that create the real value in our lives. We really enjoyed having our Paris ladies visiting Bucharest. And we did some brainstorming as well during our Sunday lunch. Some surprising project might be coming in the near future. I warmly salute our Paris friends and extend the invitation to come back to Bucharest. The April trip was only "the beginning of a true friendship".
